this week in my studio…
it has been a 'prep' week. i am up to my eyeballs in blocks.
each available surface is covered with blocks.
i am going through a lot of this stuff.
having every surface covered with blocks this week meant the week actually started by a bit of a quick cleaning in my studio… so every surface was clear and ready to be covered with blocks. :)
this means i now have a nice big pile of ready canvas to work with!
i also wanted to mention…
i will have a post up on the (in)courage site on sunday called God colors. i would so love to have you stop by.
looking forward to seeing what you have been creating this week.
♥
ready to share? let us celebrate the process and the accomplishments. please remember we want this to be an encouraging group, it would be wonderful if you would visit the other studios.
if you are new and want to see what this 'in the studio… sneak peek friday' stuff is all about check the about post. you can grab the button right here.

HI, this is my first time participating. I can't wait to see what you do with all of those blocks! I like the idea of sharing what we are working on – right from the Studio. How fun. I hope I entered correctly.
Thanks and have a great day! – Heather
yay… so happy to have you join the fun heather!
Wow Jennifer! That is a lot of blocks! Of course I know they're all going to become something amazingly beautiful! Can't wait to see what.

thanks for this prepN post … I love blanks & clean slates
yes… a clean blank slate. open to all possibilities.
Hi Jennifer … looks like you have your work cut out for you. Did you make the blocks too or do you have someone else cut them for you?
Have a great weekend and I hope to see some of your finished pieces later! They are always so inspiring.
thank you lorrie. i have my dear husband's help with making the blocks!
Hi Jennifer – what a fun site and concept. Your WIP reminds me that about 80% of finished art is really in the preparation. I can wait to see what you do with all those blocks of wood.
thank you jennifer! it is so nice to have you join us. yes… so much goes into the prep… then the fun can begin!
Oh gosh! Just makes me giddy thinking of all the beauty you are about to create!! Can't wait to see them evolve!!
Love you!!!

thank you andrea!
Wow, all those blocks! Did you actually cut them yourself or do you get them delivered this way (sorry for this stupid question, but I really wonder)?
yep… delivered from the basement. :) my dear husband helps me with the woodworking! and there is never a stupid question… i love questions!
Wow Jennifer, you are really busy. Can't wait to see those blocks with your art on it! Hugs!
thank you so much elizabeth!
I love how you photograph your work. The close ups are so fun. My hubby taught be how to cut wood but I always seem to forget ;).
thank you diana! sometimes there isn't a full piece to see… so only a peek is needed. lol
I wondered if you cut the blocks yourself, too. I am thinking you must have a power sander too! I am looking forward to your article at in-courage on Sunday! Are you getting ready for a show? Blessings, friend!
Cindy
oh yes… sander is a must. not getting ready for show, most of these blocks will end up going to dayspring. i hope you enjoy my post at (in)courage!
I'm intrigued and now I can't wait to see how these will turn out. :)
I want to see what your finished product looks like. Amazing. Love the picture of the blocks…even the pics are artistic.
wow! that IS inspiring my fishie friend. i got a wave glee just seeing your photos of blocks. happy creating. i can't wait to see what each one brings…
