studio sneak peek – mom.

sneak peek

this week in my studio…

my mom came over. my sweet mom! she was so nice… she came on her day off and helped us out.  first, we finished emptying out my old studio room. the shelves we are building need to be planned out before we start making them. so we organized and lined up what would be on each shelf… at least some what of an idea. now we have measurements so the wood can start to be cut. yay! we got so much done. it would have taken days to accomplish what mom helped with.

the floors. i talked about taking a 'risk' with my studio floors in my tuesday post.

we did not sand off all of the old stuff and then we stained over the top. (more photos in the risk post) i love how they turned out. there is something about the well loved look that warms my heart!

studio progress then had to stop for other work. :) i have been working on a few orders. and working on a baby gift that i will share next time.

looking forward to seeing what you have been creating this week.

ready to share? let us celebrate the process and the accomplishments. please remember we want this to be an encouraging group, it would be wonderful if you would visit the other studios.

if you are new and want to see what this 'in the studio… sneak peek friday' stuff is all about check the about post. you can grab the button right here.

Well, you inspired me this week and I got down to the last two items on my to-do list! I wish I had help…your mom sounds like such a wonderful person to come give you a hand. My MIL will be here next week…so maybe, just maybe she can help me with the paper…we'll see. =)

    Have a great day!

So fun – I absolutely applaud what you did with the floors! I love that "shabby chic" look anyway, and the character that an aged piece has…another bonus (maybe?) is that a few paint speckles in the future will just add to the total flavor of your studio!

    Blessings!

What a sweet mom you have!! You're a lucky lady. Love the floors, can't wait to see the end result.

Is it bad that I'm seriously trying to decide what color to paint our walls by trying to decide which pieces of your artwork I plan to buy for it when it's done?!!!!!! Love it all!!!!

  13. Oh I love the floors – you won't worry about hurting them either. We put in simple pine planks in a room in our first house and I loved them. Inexpensive and they dented and took on all our living. Enjoy the process!
