this week in the studio…
i have been working on senior pictures. editing and editing and uploading. and re-editing and re-uploading. i have never done anything like this before, but when my Godchild jacob asked… i couldn't say no.
it has been a learning experience! i can say though, it was really fun taking the pictures. :)
i finished yesterday and got the order put in. i think getting the wallets to come out right was the biggest challenge i had. i did not realize that a 4×6 does not size down equally to a wallet size, but a 5×7 does. figured this out after i made 4×6's. :) now (holding my breath with fingers crossed) i wait and see how they come out!
i have also been doing some Christmas decor projects. finally! painting a few things. getting all the decorations out and thinking about how i want it to look this year. i hope to have it finished this weekend! finished photos soon!
i am still working on my prints of some of my original pieces. i just don't think they look the same in a frame. so i have decided that i am going to wood mount them. i think it will be a nice finished piece… and a bit closer to the look of an original!
i did finished a new print inspired by the annual 'apple day' with my mom. just waiting on an order of mats to get them put in the shop!
looking forward to seeing your creative heart this week.

Great job!
That's great that you were able to do senior pictures for your godchild! My son is a senior this year and the pictures were SO expensive! I love the picture you have on the blog!
I also like your new print. It looks like it will match my kitchen!
thank you renee! i could not believe the cost of senior pictures… crazy!
Oh, I'll bet those senior photos of Jacob are going to be grand! and, I love the graphics on your new piece. Beautiful. blessings ~ tanna
oh… thank you so much tanna. you are so sweet! :)
Love the senior photo of Jacob. He is a handsome young man.
I'll be back a little later to link up, Jenn. :)
thanks nancy! i wasn't able to get online until recently… was the linky not up this morning? should have been at 6am central time. not sure what happened there, but at some point it must have appeared! lol
beautiful photo!
Jenn, I don't see the linky — am I missing it? Thanks!
I think the linky is missing…but I love the print! I have been busy doing pictures for the therapeutic riding center's holiday party on Saturday! I am lovin' photoshop! (Now that I can run it a little…smiles)
that sounds like so much fun cindy! there is so, so much to learn with photoshop. i just know some basics! lol not sure what happen with the linky. i didn't see this morning when it came up? sorry about that!
I'm sure the pictures will turn out wonderfully :)
I love the idea of wood-mounting the prints! There is something about art not being in a frame that I love.
yes… they just didn't look the same in a frame. the mounting will be a bit more work and cost, but i think worth it. thank you carissa! :)
I agree with Carissa, I love things that arent in frames. Are you making the prints at home on a printer or do you take them somewhere? I went to a print shop several years ago to start making prints of my watercolor paintings and couldnt afford it- to be scanned and printed it was going to cost approx a thousand for a run of 100. (Granted they arent small) I keep dreaming of a day that I could save enough to have one of my favorites printed then use the money from the sold prints to fund another etc…. Life keeps happening though.
i have had them done for me before… but this time i am giving it a try myself! :) it is costly to have them done. i think a lot of people try it themselves for that very reason. i hope one day soon you can print some of your favorites! that will be fantastic!
How awesome that you got to take senior portraits! I bet they turned out great!
thank you jen! i was stressin' for sure… but i think they will be fine! :)
Great job, Jennifer! Is he your nephew? I (think) I see a resemblance! Can't wait to see your home decorated for Christmas. Still putting on finishing touches here. I think I am done but then I get a little idea. . . you creatives know how that goes! I'll keep adding finishing touches until just before Christmas -lol!
thank you jennifer! he is actually my cousin… his dad is my uncle. we did both get our curly hair from our grandpa! :) i am so happy to hear i am not the only one that keeps adding 'finishing' touches all month! lol
Taking the photos is always my favorite part. : ) Today I am also working on editing photos…
that certainly is the fun part, isn't it christina! ;)
I really like the apple print. The colors are amazing! I think there is something about how everything is turning drab brown that makes me hungry for vivid colors! :) ~Frances
oh thank you frances. i do love the pretty red too! :)
Sounds like you had a very busy, yet enjoyable week.
I like the sounds of mounting your prints on boards.
Wishing you luck with the photos, it's horrible waiting and not knowing how they will come out.
Have a great weekend and thanks for hosting.
Xx
thank you tracey! and thanks for the good luck wishes! :)
What a busy, beautifully creative girl you've been. I really love the apple print Jen. It is wonderful.
Have a blessed weekend.
The picture looks great! The sizing is frustrating, though! I'm sure they'll turn out great!
Wonderful portrait, that look can only be of a great person.
WOW! Beautiful picture… lucky Godchild to have a personal, and way professional senior picture. It will be fun to see your decorating photo's next. And I love the new print! Perfect words as always…
