this week in the studio…
we have been working on our office. well… reworking some bookshelves we had in there.
there just wasn't enough space for our books and the military items we have. we have a military 'theme' office. including things from all of our family members that have served our country. it is a wonderful collection and so meaningful.
we made 2 shelves and put them side by side to start with. now we are adding a couple more shelves and stacking them up! they also went from blue to white. that happens with me a lot. a lot. i tend to paint things and then rethink the color after. we have done a lot of painting in our home. my husband, bless his heart, is ok with my paint changing my mind.
we are getting there. once we get it all put together, we just have to give it a few coats of varnish. should have it done and ready to fill up next week! i can not wait. there is just something about filling up a bookshelf. i love it. i always feel so organized when i am done!
i'll be sure to post some after photos! :)
i am so looking forward to seeing your creative heart this week.

I love bookshelves! Can't wait to see it when it's finished!
I'm impressed!
can't wait to see! we need to do this to our office…it's definitely not the inspirational space i'd like it to be! lol
Can't wait to see your project!! Have a wonderful and productive weekend, Jennifer! blessings ~ Tanna
Wow! I did not realize you have a military themed home. That is pretty cool!
The bookshelves look so nice! I need to get busy with a few projects like that myself.
I've searched my whole life for the perfect bookselves…but think I'd only be happy if I had a full size library in my house where I could put all the bookselves I ever wanted lol I love them, happy weekend :)
I like the idea of a themed office and what a sweet way to remember family members who have served…we have a few items like that, my husband has them sitting around his home office – he works for a military contractor, and has lots of souvenirs…
This has me thinking about your studio redo of last year…did I miss the reveal? LOL…
Blessings! I'll be back later to check out everyone's blogs…I can't believe I got here so early!!!
Wow Jennifer…those are lovely shelves! I'm so glad your hubby is so supportive. It's always a blessing.
I can't wait to see them filled up with all your lovely things.
I'm actually finally linking up this week…it's shocking! Thanks for hosting sneak peek each week! God bless!
I love organizing our bookshelf too! Can't wait to see how yours turns out :)
Can't wait to see your filled bookshelves, Jennifer! It sounds like quite a collection. I change my mind about paint quite a bit, too :) Seems no matter how long I look at swatches and imagine it painted a 'perfect' color, a more perfect color comes along – lol!
Thanks for hosting the link-up!
My husband doesn't like painted wood. :( I would probably change my mind a lot, too. BUT, I don't have enough ambition to repaint, so it is probably for the best!
I love the military theme- I have 2 brothers in the service.
I do the same thing! Paint… repaint. My husband may think I'm a bit crazy. Ha, ha. You also can never have enough book shelf space. Wish the ones you were doing were going in my house. :)
Have a great weekend!
I can't wait to see the end result!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Jennifer!
You can NEVER have enough bookcases! They are my favorite piece of furniture and I've got the books to fill them up with…lol Have fun filling yours up and can't wait to see them all finished. Have a great weekend, fondly, Roberta
Your white shelves are so crisp and lovely! I'm sure they'll look wonderful with all your treasures arranged on them.

What a great feeling to be changing some things around, including your creative mind on colors. I love it!!! I do things like that- start one way, go another. The heart of a true creative!!! Gotta love it. I'm looking forward to seeing your finished shelves. I know they will be most fabulous. Thanks for hosting this most wonderful linky space. hugs xoxo
Jennifer, I am exactly the same way! Almost everything I ever painted white I had painted a different color to start with. We have been in our apartment for one year and we're already re-painting the living room. The kitchen is about to be repainted for the THIRD time! The lighting is just so challenging that I'm having a really hard time finding the right, cheerful colors that don't look shadowy and gray in the afternoon and evening. Can't wait to see your bookshelves all filled up! I love bookshelves too…
